I'm bidding on a 1987 E30 Bmw with a 2 litre engine on EBay in Germany but the auctioneer hasn't specified an exact model.

I was hoping someone here would be able to identify it:

    Year: 1987
    Model: E30
    Engine: 1.976 cc (6 cylinder)
    Power: 95kw

    Suggestions ???

Maybe if you're buying an Aston Martin.

Some might suggest only crazy people would pay Irish prices...

    back to the question asked..
good place to start would be
    http://www.bmwworld.com/models/e30.htm
if you do go ahead with it, let us know how you get on (maybe we will all be buying cars from ebay soon!)

    good luck!

    There is no standard E30 with 1976cc. The 320/320i has 1990cc & 95kw.
However, the 318is (excellent car!) has 1796cc but this is a 4 pot (with 99kw).
I presume it is a 320i with incorrect engine size.
As you cannot see the car you have no idea whether it is covered in rust, etc.
When was the timing belt last changed?

edit: now that I think about it, the 318is didn't arrive until 1989!

all the info?? that page is not very descriptive! It incorrectly tells you that the M20 engine which we presume is the lump in this motor you are bidding on was used from 1987. This engine was in fact used in different formats since about 1977!
