Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

I'm looking for somewhere in Dublin that can convert old movie footage to DVD directly. I've come accross a few places that can copy movie -> video -> DVD. But this is a 2 step thing and quality will suffer :(

    Cheers

By movie 8, do you mean hi 8? Cause if you do and can't find anywhere in dublin, I will do it for you at a price. Hi-8 => DVD: £15.00 inc. up to 2 hours. £6/Hr for additional time.

Only problem is I'm in London, but I'd say its be the cheapest price you'll get. Let me know.

    Hi,

By movie 8 I mean the old 8mm film. The stuff that was really big in the 60's and 70's before VHS came along. Generally you need an 8mm projector to be able to show it, which is the fly in my particular ointment. Because I have the equipment to convert anything post VHS.

Professional Telecine is rather expensive. You can pick up an 8MM projector on ebay fairly cheap. Then project onto a screen/wall and film it with a camera. Voila, job done. Not perfect, but cheap.
