k700i firmware upgrade

    Just got a new k700i and i want to upgrade the firmware (currently R2A041). I've checked a few thread on this but just to be sure, is it better to buy the DSS25 cradle and do it myself from somewhere like DaVinci or just bring it into a shop and get them to do it ?
    I have an O2 branded phone (from germany - i think), will this pose any problems -read some rumours that O2 branded phones cant be upgraded ?

    your k700i can be flashed with an uncustomized GDFS file and upgrade the firmware the same way.

    i don't think i have the files but i'll have a look and let you know, i'll do it for you

    what are these files - i though, if you wanted to upgrade the firmware yourself you just hook the phone up to one of these servers on the web, pay for some credits and away you go ?
