    Hi All

    I have some good web skills and i am looking to design a site where people can go on line and either book a hotel room or rent a car.

    I can do the basic site with Falsh , pages etc , but what software can i use in order to allow people to pick dates , car sizes etc , and then compute a pre programmed rate for the service or car.


    Any takers ???????

    Most of these types of sites are run by companies (e.g. www.travelfat.com) that specialise in these types of systems, and have clients come to them. On the other hand, you would have to look out for people looking for such a site and bid on writing it.

    As for the technical side, you'll be needing serverside scripting, databases, management systems, tracking systems, backup systems, etc. A dedicated server would also be a bonus.

    i think to be honest u are wasting your time doing this as it has been done to perfection by many companies out there. Become an affiliate and get their booking engine on your site. The most important thing is booking hotels etc. is that they are booked in real time and are guranteed. You should concentrate more on a content related travel site and then use companies such as CNG Hotels, Hostelworld etc. to handle ure bookings through their affiliate schemes
