IBB. usb modem on Linux

hello. is here somebody who use IBB Ripwave service on Linux? i am using usb modem, and have just installed SuSE 9.1, and can't find how to make my internet connection working, SuSE even does't detect my modem. please, help me.

If you run 'lsusb' (list USB) from the terminal prompt does the modem appear?
If it does then it's a start. After that I don't know, but if 'lsusb' doesn't find it I think you are stuck.
