Speeding tickets scr*w up??

A friend of mine got done for speeding lately and he showed me the ticket... He was caught doing 85kph in a 60 kph zone. Thing is the ticket had "miles" per hour scratched out and "kilometers" per hour written in by hand. I know its only a technicality but does this not invalidate the ticket as it has been tampered with?…

I know its only a technicality but does this not invalidate the ticket as it has been tampered with?

(He also never got a printout but is afraid to contest it as he doesn't want the extra 2 points...)
