Great win for Steve Davis yesterday against Hunter 6-5, although Hunter looked nothing like the player he was last season.

ya , requiring 2 snookers in the 9th frame and all , glad to see Ding Junhui got through aswell .

Classic match alright, let's face it, Jimmy couldn't pot a ball for most of the first 4 frames & Matthew wasn't much better.... How many pinks did he miss again.. :D

Jimmy was a completely different player after the 7th frame, he won't go much further in the tournament unless he gets more consistant though.

    P EBDON (Eng) 4-0 D GRAY (Eng)

I'm not, can't see Ken beating him tomorrow. :( I think Ken has a decent enough record against Fu.

    Ebdon won 6-0 btw.

Ken is the best defensive minded player in the world (I beleive) , I don't think Ding has the knowledge to deal with his snookers and awkward defensive shots , although I wouldn't try many shots tempting Ding to pot an extremely hard to pot ball , because his cueing is imaculate and he has the ability to pot anything .

Ken has got to make the game scrappy . I would love to see Ding starting to do really well in tournaments but I don't want Ken to lose , so im sitting on the fence for this one .

oh man, that was some thrashing Doherty got yesterday, I couldn't watch after the third frame! it was woefull!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 834 ✭✭✭dearg_doom

the guy is back to his terminator-style concentration!

    he's playing great.

    did anyone see Hendry/Higgins??

    I missed it,Hendry missed a 147; Higgins took it 6-2.

    Friday has a class line-up:

    Brown/Williams
    O'sullivan/Ding

    -> I'm hoping for a Brown/O'Sullivan final.

yep, as soon as i noticed that score i stuck a 10er on williams at 9/4 .. lookin' good now although williams is struggling with this last frame

tut tut! williams let it slip. this really isn't his year! he's gotta put a lot more hours in at the practice table to try and get his ranking back up by end of year.

on the other hand, it's great to see 'the whirlwind' winning again..

Well Ronnie absolutely demolished Higgins last night. What a man, possibly the most naturally gifted sports star of our generation.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,235 ✭✭✭Dave147

Pffff, i'd whitewash ronnie with my left hand and with a blind fold on. Really I would... I had a tenner double on ronnie winning 10-6 or 10-7, didnt think he'd destroy higgins especially after his earlier performances. I suppose the only way we can see Ronnie's first round game at Citywest against Steven Maguire is if we travel to Dublin?

    yep :D

I just saw the late highlights myself, it was a pretty scrappy match for a while but very tense towards the end...

Have to agree with you there MrJoeSoap!

the guy is class, he seems to have worked on his patience a lot over the last while, did you see him refusing a number of shots that he would have chanced not too long ago? Fair play...

But this changes nothing in the grand scheme, he has been The best player over the last 6 or more years, but the only player he couldn'tseem to beat until recently was himself.

I cant wait to see how he copes at the WC in April! (8weeks!)

I only got to see the second session of the final. Ronnie was superb tbh, he pounced on every mistake (not that John made many mistakes even) & hit in a frame-winning break every frame. Never looked like missing....

    Fully deserved the title. :)
