Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone recommend some websites where I can purchase camcorders and accessories...been told I could save quite a bit in comparison to the prices in most stores around the country?
Any feedback on purchasing equipment online is appreciated.

    Thanks

Most US sites won't ship to Ireland and the ones that do put the value on the packaging so you end up paying VAT, Amazon.co.uk is good will ship to Ireland and because it's in the EU you won't have to pay VAT.

    Hi,
DABS.com is a really good site based in the uk. I just bought a canon xm2 there. Cost €2200. Priced it in the shops here and it was retailing for €2600.

Ive heard of www.nomatica.ie, but hav'nt purchased from them before, but i bought camcorders and lenses from www.pixmania.com, click on ireland and it has all the prices in euros delievery cost is grand, and usally arrive in 2 days.

Id recommend them 200%, they use DHL for delieveries.
I bought a JVC camcorder from them on a tuesday night and it was on my door on thursday morning, provided you use your Credit card it quicker.

    Hope this helps.
    Sparky.

    Yep.
Sparky's right. They're excellent. Also try www.komplett.ie I'm buying a Philips LCD monitor there (delivered for €269). Cheapest locally is Argos at €309. Another excellent site is www.7dayshop.com They're also very cheap and will deliver to Ireland. They do still cameras, but I don't know about digicams.

PS I've bought from Hong Kong and the Staes - never had to pay Duty. As far as I know you're allowed to bring in goods to the value of €308 from outside the EU as long as they're for personal use. No limit from within EU. Try Ebay.com (NOT .co.uk). You will find many absolute bargains in camcorders in NYC. :D
