Indeed, this one has been on my to-do list for a while. Even Obeygiant was pleased with the film, and he's quite often very hard to please, so I'm looking farward to it. Although if it turns out to be crap, Obeygiant will end up with some fairly blunt cuttlery lodged between his ribs. Haven't really gotten many DVDs as of late, as I'm still working through some stuff I got at christmas, so there's quite a few films on the old to-do list, so when I get around to clearing it, this should be thrusted into the collection.

Saw it a few weeks ago. It was gruesome, tasteless and disgusting. I loved it! That ending came out of nowhere but I really liked it. Plus, the opening was handled well. That phrase she mutters in French sounds cool and creepy.

Well, it's been ordered, along with a few other bits and bobs that were on my 'to-do' list. Not too sure when I'll get around to watching it, as there's a few Takashi Miike films on their way, and those take precidence by default.

The story was ridiculous if you think about it but otherwise it was a great gore film. Buzzsaws should be the new chainsaw.

No such luck, Spooky... I think I've a bunch of DVDs lost in the post. Which is a kick in the teeth. I've got Visitor Q here, and MPD Psycho to watch, but I'm very annoyed atm. Nothing like having some stuff that you've been waiting for about two weeks for lost on you. As for recommendations, I'd say check these few out:

    Gozu
    Audition
    Happiness Of The Katakuris
    Rainy Dog

Cool i`ll look out for them few. Hopefully youre delivery only got delayed and is on its way to Galway right now!

Yeah, I hope so. One of the erm 'delayed' DVDs did infact make it through last week, but I'm certainly gonna give it time before I fly off the handle.

Hope you enjoy the films above. Might be wise to point out that Rainy Dog is in no way Horror-related, but infact a sombre and downbeat drama.

Well i Watched it last night ans was not disapointed despite all the hype in here about it. Really lived up to it. The film could have well been made in america with american actors as it gave very little sense of location. Apart from speaking French and driving citrons it could have been set in ballyhanus! I think this may have been intentional given all the jap films getting american remakes perhaps they are hoping for the film to be snaped up for the same treatment, where the real monys is! There was even a mention of the state plolice witch sounds more american then french, but I could be wrong!

All in all best slasher film ive seen in ages!

Lads you should put it high on youre list to watch. My next film is to be Darkness, any one seen that one?

Naw, I've been heartilly stuck into Farscape the past while, so it's not too high on my list at all, and I've not even gotten around to looking at Visitor Q yet. Yes, I'm plodding along, but I'll get there eventually.

Darkness looked interesting indeed when I first heard about it, but looking at the imdb.com page, I don't like the idea of Miramax having it shelved for 2 years then slicing it up heavily to get a PG-13 rating, so it doesn't bode well for it being much of a good film at all. Leastways not the version Miramax have, but I'm sure if there's a director's cut floating about, I'd definetly take a look.

Wow, really enjoyed this movie.. great building of tension and foreboding athmosphere, realistic (and brutal) violence, and good acting. I worried at first that it was gonna be slasher-porn, purely revelling in gory and bloody violence (and dare I say glorifiying it), as many of the sub-standard serial killer movies of late have been.. but this has some depth and direction. Reminded me of TCM in parts.

I'd recommend it also, although there is some heavy enough realistic gore near the start, for anyone squemish.

Right, well I knocked it up a notch on my to-do list, and finally got around to watching it last night. Definetly glad I did, I really enjoyed it!

I saw that a while back. Its one of the better horror films of recant times. It gets its chills through imagery and suggestion rather than gore and monsters jumping out of closets. Id recommend it.

The soundtrack was phenominal too, really did a number on me. Reminds me of Coil's original Hellraiser soundtrack, it was that effective.

Yeah it had that Muse song that reminded me of the sound track to Candyman 2

I usually hate when popular songs get put in films, but that particular song was very well placed.
