Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wheres the best place to buy a tent? Is online an option or would delivery be a problem? I'm looking for a 2-man maybe for some festivals this summer to start with. What shape is best, dome? I'll probably need a foam mat and sleeping bag too.

if you need a tent now, then Argos has some cool offers on in their catalog.
But if you can wait, I would agree with Garth on this

Dome is good, if its only for festivals you'll be able to buy a good tent in any camping shop in the country. Millets are good and reasonably priced if your based in Dublin. I'd doubt buying online will save you any money as the delivery charge will be quite large; unless you going for something specific like a full expedition tent.

Foam mats are good, Thermarests are better but pricey. Sleeping bags are cheap enough and again you'll get them in your local camping store.

I have bought a sleeping bag online from http://www.rockrun.com/ but you could try http://www.barrabes.com/ too if you want to compare prices.

Thanks guys for all the info and such prompt replies as well!! The Lidl/Aldi option sounds good to me as I won't need the tent until the summer. I suppose I'll just have to keep my eyes peeled on the Lidl and Aldi websites.

For a festival tent I'd go for Millets probably. Don't go near Great Outdoors or Outdoor Adventure Store, good tents but overpriced and a bit too good to use for a festival. If by any chance you will be going to Antrim in the future theres a really good shop near Ballycastle that do Vango seconds fixed and are great tents at good prices.
