lookin good, the colours are great, I have a blue dragon on my right shoulder blade. I wanted it just solid blue, but the put a black outline on it which I didn't want, the colours look so much better without an outline.... I'm going to draw something else to put around it so it looks better now.

The problem with doing tattoos with no hardlining is longevity, if you soft line tattoos they blotch and spread and fade a lot quicker unless they are put in very well.

A lot of artists wont do work when they think it wont hold up, hence wanting to hard line it to make sure it lasts.

I'll get some decent ones soon. Doesn't look like anything yet, just outlines and a bit of water shading. It will take shape after the next session, he could only do an hour and a half this time unfortunately.

I got my first and last tattoo about 4 weeks ago. I'm not really a tattoo person but I also wanted to get a tattoo of a forget me not on my ankle. But last year I lost my soul mate in tragic circumstances and it was only then that the forget me not tattoo would be apt - forget me nots symbolise the loss of loved ones and memories

I have it on my hip - I love it :)

Been reading this thread for a while but finally got pics up... here' ya go...
    2006138145032.jpg
Done in "Federal Hill" Providance, RI.

    2006138145230.jpg
Done in "Viking Tattoo" Zelona Guora, Poland.

    200613814536.jpg
    Done by "Shano" Dublin. ;)
(Its only meant to be the back outline for a cracked stone path, so don't even bother slagging it off... its meant to be like that!)

    2006138144954.jpg
Bird was done by Ronan in "Irish Ink" Galway (The only good artist in there in my opinion!)
The crown/Lion by N8 in "Reds Tattoo" Providance, RI.
Shading behind the bird, the stars and the crest border by Adrian in "Classic Ink" Dublin.

I've also got some work on my right hip but no pics to hand.

Getting more done this weekend on the sleeve... some waves, faded shading to blend it all together and some lettering above the crest....:D

    Ah howaya, small world ;)

Seriously no slagging here, I dont generally slag tatoos, but I'd seriously advise not getting "Shano" to continue with the stone path idea, he wont have the skills to pull something that abstract off without it looking like a big pile of puke, that's judging by the existing linework in any case.
You'll need an artist to pull off what you want, not a scratcher, I was gonna post this on inkednation but sure you're here now ;)

    Cheers.

<edit> thanks for the sticky, anonymous internet pixies :D

Oh no don't worry he ain't doing any more of it... honestly it was a spur of the moment thing with it a few years ago... I've had the idea for ages now of having the path, with ruins fading down to my elbow below it and into an abyss just after that.... (fancy or wha' ?)

Well, we got into this whole discussion about it and he'd just gotten his kit so I said go ahead... I specifically asked the lines be done like that tho, as I wanted a jagged effect... blah...blah...blah...

I'll post up one or two of the sketches I'd used as a basis for it over the weekend and ya'll get my point...

Is that code for you were locked at the time? ;)

I can actually visualise what you are on about with the idea about the path into wall etc, but not because of that drawing, just because you described it and that sketch on your arm gives a vague idea of what you mean.
You're moving stateside right? You'll easily find a good artist in your area with inkednation or www.tattooz.net who could do a proper job with it and cover that, it's not too far to rescue at least.

    *bows*
    It is indeed.
It's another eye that Alex grey designed. I was originally gonna get the lateralus eye, but didn't wannabe like every other tool head with the same thing.
but it's more or less the same idea ;)

Ah but have you still managed to keep it a secret!? I still giggle at the thoughts of you having a tattoo of that "magnitude" and your parents or family not knowing about it lol :D
