Hi, im new to the board.

Got my first tattoo in december 05, after a year of deciding whether i wanted it on me for the rest of my life, here it is when i just wanted the outline done.

    lol002.jpg

I only got purple shading around the edges as i didnt want them to be too harsh. I also decided on the layout as the 3 big stars are for people who passed away in my family and the 5 little stars are my family as it is. (Its a very bad picture.) And i got the shading in July of this year.

Sean from Zulu did it for me.

And he did them well! I had mine done in navan. It's alright, I'll work it into my sleeve. I've had a few ideas for it but nothin major. Anyone know of any good artists willing to design my half sleeve?

I think he's curious as to who you got to tattoo hands on your first tattoo.

Like you can read my mind. Seriously though who actually will tattoo a hand for a first timer, stinks of bad morals to me.

why does it stink of bad morals, i'm just wondering because i know a couple of people who had no problem getting tattoos for their first time on very visible areas like the neck,

    i'm just wondering

I would have thought most studios would steer a mile clear of tattooing first-timer's hands/neck etc. simply because of the impact that can have on a person's career. Modern society is pretty liberal, but a tat on your neck can seriously hamper your job prospects - same goes for your hands. For that reason, most studios won't do that unless somebody's a hardcore tat fan, mature etc., etc..

I think a solid practice would be to tattoo hands and neck and other such visible areas when you've run out of other skin to ink.

Both my mother and I got our first tattoos in Feb. of 2006. It was pretty fun, we got them together, and they both sort of have the same meaning. :o
My step dad passed away in August of 2005 (it's been a year now) and I got my tattoo in his memory. Before he passed, I remember sitting and talking to him, and him telling me that he wanted to be a bird fly away...he just didn't want to be confinded to that bed anymore. I came across a Bible verse while he was still here (Psalm 55:6-9) and it reminded me of him. He was more of a dad to me than my own father is...I miss him deeply. :(
Anyways, my tattoo is a dove.

    thank you thank you!!
but it's no probs, I should be outta the house soon enough anyways, so whether they find out or not isn't really a big deal!!!! well..it probably will still be a big deal, but whether I'm 18 or 38, they'd still be bothered about it, so it doesn't matter :D

I don't know how I feel about those. They're a bit strange for me actually. Each to their own though, I imagine you're happy with them.

Love the new tat porn_star. Couldn't have it myself, it would really annoy me when wearing actual stockings, etc. (because there'd be "pretend stockings" underneath - I'm stupidly obsessive about stuff like that :p).
Looks lovely anyway :) And very unusual!

this is what we ended up doing today. I've got one more session left just to tie it all up a bit more and we're done hopefully. I really love it, but I'm not gonna be sorry when it's finished. After five sessions so far its taken its toll on the ribs.
anyway, these photos are shocking. I'll post some more when I get someone to take some better shots for me.

I haven't said this yet but here:

Wow. That's along the lines of what I want on my ribs. Lots of color. Real pretty and girly. It's gorgeous! Where did you get it and I dare ask how much that set ya back.

Karen Russell did it for me, she's got her own shop called seven roses in Kinsale in cork, with her boyfriend Don..doubt she's working at the moment..she's just had a baby...
she charges pretty much by the hour for custom work and is pretty much the woman to go to for colour...
