Well there both cool pics but I can't see either working well as tattoos. For a fairy I'd like to see something more realistic like basically a pinup girl style image but with wings and all the fairy characteristics or something a bit more nuskool/cartoony like the one I've attached (like just imagine that style face with all the fairy characteristics)

yeah, that's cool, and colours are great, but this is more my thing, or this or the following...sorry, im ona roll here! possibly NSFW this one really like my pic and looks great imo

alright I'm done I think ye get the idea! :D

That was fairly incoherent but I'm guessing your calling my tattoo gay. So when someone critiques your tattoo your response is a biggoted slur. Sound stuff mate.

Come on davey, let it be. If you're willing to ink something on you permanently you have to deal with people criticizing it, it's just the way life is when you have tats and piercings, but flaming other posters with nonsensical insults just makes you look like a tool. If you're happy with YOUR ink you shouldn't feel the need to lash out.

Now, can you please answer my question and tell me where you got it done?

I detest anime so that shall not be happening! lol! I'm tryna dig up the fairy artist that I really like and used to cover some of her work...

found one of the artists http://www.strangeling.com/fairyart1.html LOVE this work

That last one is based on an Amy Brown painting, right? Why not get a high quality pic of her original one and bring that in with you. Could be nice.

I'd really like to see a portrait style fairy with some realistic forest background or something like that. It'd be really unique because most people go for the more illustrated style.

That's a bit of a dodgy statement Davey. Would you consider Mike DeVries or Nikko's work oldskool? Both colour and black & grey work has evolved with time neither can be considered old or new.

jesus! youve scared the living daylights out of my fish in me tank they wont need their lights on!

That's a pretty classic tattoo theme one undead face one living. The contrast is what makes it cool. If you find that scary stay away from Paul Booth's stuff haha.

her dress is purple I call her my pink one based on her wings.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 486 ✭✭truthinwords

By portrait I meant more like this (attached file). I can't find any portrait fairies online so your just gonna have to imagine the wings etc.

ive just read the last couple of pages of this thread, to be honest ye should expect the comments being posted about each other, if you get a tattoo and you like it, good, if you dont then tough, if you post a picture of it, then expect good comments and negative ones, some of your carry on is all a bit childish if you ask me.

On a completely different, non-fighting, what-this-thread-was-originally-about note, here are some pictures of my orangutan tattoo, a little bit flaky and itchy as hell, 1 month after the first session, 1 week after the last. I'm incredibly happy with it:D
First picture is a bit blurry, but not too bad, and the second picture shows its location (ignore the tummy please)
And please note - it's an ape, not a monkey!

Right so, I knew this would get seen in here just as wuick as starting a new thread so feic it, I'm debating getting one of my faires (attch) on my thigh, however for the black one, take down the wings a notch and and rather than having her sitting on a pillar just have a sorts sketchy shaded line under her, so it gives the impression of summit there. As for the pinky one, don't know if I would alter anything...

Just wondering if anyone has any further ideas on it, ie, people familiar with colour work etc, F_S I'm lookin at you but you're not here to look at...I'm sorta more inclined toward the black one, for simplicity etc even though the pink one is prettier...

    Thanks!
Have you checked out any of Luis Royo's work? You might like her style, could give you a few ideas :)

Davey180 that is an awful example of the last supper. The line work is awful, the shading just looks sore like he's churned up your skin. The hands are misshapen, the faces are out of proportion. If I was you I'd stop going to him get it lasered an covered with something much better. It's an image which is best tackled very subtly all those line just ruin it. He's not talented enough to be tackling stuff like that.

If he's getting pissing about people saying bad stuff about his work then he doesn't sound like a real artist to me. Any good artist is forever trying to better themselves. When someone gives critique like the line work is shoddy he should be listening and thinking of what he can do to improve it.

Did you really go back to the artist with comments from the internet? I'm sorry but that's pathetic. Why would you do that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5 HonestOpinion

Why should I have to look at his website to see good examples? A Tattoo is permanent he should be doing his best all the time you can't have lazy day's in the tattoo industry. And awards don't always mean as much as they used to, sometimes **** tattoos win by default because there's no-one else at the convention has entered in that category.

Davey180, I thought you were going to places in Cork for this tat, Danny Bullman works out of Limerick, no? I don't think much of your last supper tattoo either, but I'm very glad you're happy with it. Also, are you foreign? You seem to have trouble understanding sentences which appear perfectly legible to everyone else.

Ah, jolly good. That clears things right up.

To Bounty Hunter - John in InkWell did the orangutan in the end, and I'm delighted with how he kept it looking like my original drawing. I don't have any other tattooing experiences, but I was really happy with how the three sessions went - most of it was like a breeze! I did have to have a bit of numbing spray for the last half hour of the last session, cos I was getting a bit shaky and we only had another small bit to do and I wanted to get it done, and it was good stuff. Yay, I have an orangutan on my lap!

I wouldn't go to Living Art anyway, their reputation isn't the best. I don't get how he posted 8 threads or so looking for artists and after porn*star, myself, and others gave him recommendations for GOOD artists he went to the 2 studios that weren't recommended by anybody.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,702 ✭✭✭bounty_hunter

Wow, this is getting to be a bit of a joke lads. Can somebody tell me why davey180 hasn't been banned yet?

popecatapetal, it really is lovely. Glad you're happy with how it turned out. Really like the placement as well.

yeah seriously... this is a thread about looking at peoples work and passing a single comment or 2, its not about slander, if you note, danny b wasnt slandered at all.. there was judgment passed on some of his work by one or 2 people out of a few thousand that use the forum, and then for you to go and "report" these people to him davey180.. that and your asking stupid questions when they are clearly answered in refrence to you.. to be honest i doubt many people appreciate it. i certainly dont. if i was a mod you would have been warned,
and as for this thread.. on with the pictures.
