Is this just for posting pics of tattoos or can we post pics of piercings as well?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,733 ✭✭✭Blub2k4

It was started as a tattoo thread, I think.

Start your own thread with piercings, just be careful that you post no genital/sexual piercings.

My one and only, but that's not saying that I'm going to make additions to the thing. Hopefully I'll get it extended this year.

Who did it? It looks like 2 people worked on it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,290 ✭✭✭damien

Raven tattoo did both. The centre was an older tattoo that a friend designed and the addition was designed by another friend. Hoping to have yet another friend design the next section.

Something in the centre would be nice, sorta going down towards your ass.

thats my most recent one, done on the back of my neck, january 2005 in Dragon Tattoo, talbot street.

    ladybugtattoo.jpg
then before that i got this done on my left hip, also in Dragon.

    lwrbacktattoo.jpg
this is the first one i got way back when, on lower back, in Dragon aswell.

Ive about 3 more in the final stages of design...and then im off for some more.

i was interested to check out the silver ink...anyone got a good close up pic of it? or the white?

Havent got a pic but iv seen some nice white work around. It depends what type of ink they happen to be using, some inks are crap and some are good. It would probably be best to ask the artist what they think of white ink most will tell you if they think its ****.

when i was getting my ladybug done, there was a possible spot of white ink that could've been done, but the guy told me that it has a tendancy to go pinkish after a while....so i left it out then.

ive never seen the silver though! could be cool!

The main prolem iv seen with white ink is that it just fades away to almost nothing. But some of the inks now are lovely, it depends if the artist can be bothered to pay the extra few quid.

There can also be a problem where the ink from the stencil outline gets mashed in with the white and leaves a coloured edge on it, this can then spread into the tattoo a bit.

Anyone interested in nice Celtic stuff check out: www.luckyfishart.com the tattoist is Pat Fish and she's in Santa Barbara, CA. She tattoed large Celtic crosses on both my shoulders. I got one while I was in CA and one when she was at a convention in Green Bay, WI. She sometimes travels to Ireland and England to tattoo. You can check out her schedule at her www.tattoosantabarbara.com site. You can also buy her high quality flash from the lucky fish art site. I like the stuff I've seen on here by Gavin of Zulu. Does he have a website?

Weird, I actually thought you might be him for a minute!

I do have a question for you all: If you were to recommend a tattoo parlour in Dublin, which one would it be?

Read the sticky at the start of the forum for recommendations, different studios do different things well.

Just started into my new one today.
Outline was ok enough, colouring hurt a bit more, especially in and around my hip bone. Pain started to take its toll after a couple of hours alright though. what harm, starting the eye on tuesday. ya can kinda see a rough stencil of it above the lotus.
pics are a little crap, cos i took them myself.
