well the eye might be a little further down and that spiral coming out of it will connect up with the lotus. there'll be a light backround aswell.
originally, there was gonna be a stargazer flower at the top and karen drew out a really nice one, but both of us are at a loss as to how it will fit in and actually connect with the piece as a whole, so it might be replaced with something else. But the whole thing will probably stretch right up next to my boob, there or there abouts :eek:
I really wasn't too prepared for the pain today though.ouchness!

Yeah side sucks, my ex got a big tribal going all the way down her side from under her boob to hip and i was holding her hand during, man she nearly broke my fingers from squeezing them. Karens doing it, wouldn't of thought it was her work.

yeah, I love Karen's work. She seems to like the idea too, so best choice all round. Haha, once the pain kicked in I was like '****, I should of made my guy come in with me to hold my hand' I wouldn't mind denting his hand, but I had a few bite marks on my own :rolleyes: lol. dont think he'd like to watch though, he'd get bored.

These are pics from the half way point of the first session of lining. This session really sucked. I've had one more session of lining done since and that was heaven compared to the first. 6hrs down 44ish left:D

Hey Emmett, any chance you could give us a closer up shot? I cant really make anything of that tattoo out, what with the ink being smeared cos it is fresh and the fact that the photos are so small.

Cool, did you get all the linework done in that session? If not how does that work? Is she going back again and drawing in the rest each time????
It's very early to tell yet and the linework is hard to judge cos it is still not wiped down and ink is bleeding all over the place, but looks like it should be good.

All the drawn stuff you see were the sketches for the mainline stuff all the big detail then the next session she done all the fine detail on the feathers and head. Yeah that photo was taken after about 1.5-2hrs mark on the first session i'll try get some pics of it at the weekend and post them

Justin in Zulu has some nice biomech work on his arm, ask him who did his, Dim in Snakebite has a lot of giger books so I reckon he could probably be handy at it, other than that I dont know

those pics are much better emmet. Looks like it's gonna be a deadly piece though, I like it. Still hard to see detail since its not been wiped, but it indeed looks good.

Tuesday my thoughts'll be with you cos i know how mush the side hurts, don't think my fingers are the same after the ex's side. Take some nureofen before it won't do much but any little will help. How big are you going with it? just side or will it be bigger in the end? I'm gonna buy a digital camera during the week so should hopefully get some pics of session two up.

it's just gonna be my side. It should reach up to the side of my boob.that lotus thats done, is slightly more on my stomach then my side, so the eye going above it, will probably curve around to be more on my side and then there'll be something going above that aswell and a bit of backround.I don't want anything hitting onto my back cos I've got a piece planned for it, even though it wont be started for about a year.
anyways, I'll post pics during the week after the next session.

Amaxingemmet - What sort of money does a tatoo that size cost (Not specifically yours). I thinking about getting a large piece that would come across my shoulder, and run halfways across my back, my chest and halfway down my arm.

This brings up design questions, but that's another thread

A friend of mine is doing it for me so i'm not paying what i should be for it but for a piece the size of mine full colour with background your looking at 40-50 hours work and i think the going rate is about €80 an hour so can be quite costly in the end.

If you are getting a large piece done the price should be about 50-60% of the price of a smaller piece per hour.
The reason being that you are an artists bread and butter with large pieces, they tattoo you off-peak when they would not have any walk-ins. If tattoos lose their value as fashion accessories, the people with the big pieces will still get tattooed.
So you should end up paying 40-50 an hour eventually for very large pieces.

Ask your artist about discounts for large pieces, chances are they will do it.
I am getting a sleeve done and have already had 4 hours for free....

About ten on the left arm. I have one piece of shading done since that I dont have posted yet, not arsed charging the camera, might put it up tonight though as I was possibly wanting to photo my pancakes anyway.
Have to talk to Dim when I get a chance about starting the right as a sleeve project.

Thanks Guys for the replies. I suppose its not that expensive for a job thats going to last a lifetime, and if its a design that can be done in stages, it would ease the cashflow a bit.

Here's what it looks like after today. Only got an hours work done cos my appointment was pretty late anyway and if we kept going we would of been there late into the night. Plus I wasn't in much of a mood, had a fight with my best friend just before I went in and broke up with my guy this morning, so luckily enough I had other things to occupy my mind other then the increasing pain I'm getting from this piece.Pics aren't that great.
