Got my second one in celestial ring on Saturday. Love it I'll get a pic of it up once its all healed and cleaned up! Its one killer to clean though got it on my shoulder blade on my back. Alot of stretching involved in cleaning it!

You don't really need to clean a tattoo, just moisturise it. maybe you meant that?

well, i'd always wash mine down with water, to get any clumpy bits of moisturiser/dirt off it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,903 ✭✭✭Blacktie.

Well just to clean it to get the first few bits of goo stuff from the new skin forming and i run water over to to get rid of any dirt. O and on the second day There was alot of black and grey stuff around it. Kind of worried it was the ink. It hasn't happened since and it still looks good but is that normal or what?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,196 ✭✭✭Crumble Froo

the ink does tend to bleed out a little, but nothign to worry about in the first day/week... :)

I was always told to clean it with mild antibacterial liquid soap, like the sanex ones, then pat it dry and moisturise it. Worked really well with my two.

The black/grey stuff is dead skin coming off the tattoo site as your body tries to heal itself from the damage of the tattoo. Nothing to worry about. It'll happen a few times in the first couple of weeks

My new tattoo - just over 1 week old. I'm at the "in love" stage at the moment and I can't stop looking at it and admiring it!! I originally wanted it smaller but the artist said in order to make it smaller the lines would need to be filled in. I'm so happy I didn't compromise and went bigger with the details... :D

    Oh I like it!

(random: you're not the same Aspiration from the CITSU boards back in the day, are you?)

  • Registered Users Posts: 717 ✭✭✭Aspiration

    Thanks Gauge!

As a matter of fact I am :) I use Asp for most forums! Do I know you? I don't go to CIT any more though- finished up last year!

Yeah, I went by the name Lateralus back then. Only one more month in CIT to go!

Designed these myself. The top one represesnts the mythology of Ireland through symbolism and the bottom one is a tribute to my mother.

    Go raibh maith agat.
    Thanks for that. :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,123 ✭✭✭✭Star Lord

De nada. They're nice tatts, the first one definately appeals to me more though! :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 861 ✭✭✭session savage

Yeah I plan on adding to the second one, just to beef it up a bit.
Although it has a very sentimental meaning. The word MUM is written by the knotwork (although its upside down in the pic there lol) and the two ends represent angels wings, so whatever I do I'm gonna keep the theme.
I'll probably end up with two sleeves and herself will go spare :)

    Hi guys,

Wife just got a new tattoo today

    DSC02856.jpg

So, very happy with it except for the white. We think its a bit bold and takes away from the writing. What do you think ?

Were hoping it will fade a little and look better in a few days.
