Looking for some advice on headphones to buy for an mp3 player. Only criteria I have to set is that they can't be IN ear phones, I can't wear them. They start to hurt after about 10 mins, thats not even the type that go into the ear canal.

Have had a look through previous threads and have to state these need to be portable too so not too big either. I was thinking along the lines of the neckband type head phones.

So any thoughts? I was hoping to get away with something in the 50 to 70 euro bracket.

Sennheiser PX200's - best headphones I've ever used. Light but excellent sound and good isolation from outside noise. Comes with a little case that it folds very well into.

shure E2c phones - bought them from dabs for around €100 - great sound from them. You just have to get use to the weird fit in your ears

Shure E2c if you want to spend about €100, Sony EX71SL for around €50.

No need to spend that sort of money. http://ie.europe.creative.com/shop/product.asp?prod=585 These came with my player and I found them to be excellent. They're very loud and sound great. You can't beat that price, they're worth buying even as a spare and that price includes delivery.

They are about €70 on ebay. I have the E3C's and they are brilliant, heard stuff in songs I never noticed before. They are less than €120 delivered new on ebay. Seller is wind130

    Sean.

I have heard some say the difference is similar to the "step-up" from $10 headphones to the E2C, though I find that hard to believe (and I have the E3Cs). I went for the E3Cs after seeing all the E2C's for sale on hi-fi forums with people saying they were upgrading to the E3C's

    Plenty of info at http://www.head-fi.org/
