Eircom has Significant Market Power in Wholesale Broadband - ComReg

    On the ComReg site:
    ComReg today issued a paper designating eircom with Significant Market Power (SMP) in the wholesale broadband access market. The decision contains relevant regulatory obligations to be imposed further to the SMP designation.

    Decision here.

    From what I can see, all this means is that there will be more formal processes for the BitStream offerings from eircom.

    Next up decisions.

    Narrowband access (POTS) and Narrowband leased lines . There were submissons on FIA during the first of those consultations ...... one wonders.

    I was surprised at the Retail Minus table on page 14 of 17 to stop margin squeeze. Very welcome news and a portent of useful regulation I hope.
