Well done to those involved in composing the last press release .. I definately think this is a good move, as it's clear that a lot of journalists don't understand most of ComReg decisions.

    Good move guys (and girl?!!)!

All Moriarty's work. We've already had one journo asking for more of these style briefings as the ComReg documentation is hard to decode. 10 minutes and we're getting positive feedback. Sounds good !

Will everyone on the list know what VOIP is? Conversely, will the ones that don't matter?

Mmmmm. I thought about that after it was sent. Since VOIP is becoming a huge thing or maybe just a hugely hyped thing, we should have some kind of intro for the non techy journos on our mailing list.

JWT is currently writing a "position paper" on Sat Internet, so I guess creating one on VOIP would be good too.

As for the journos that are clueless on tech, well they can have just as much reach into the general populations they serve as the techy journo. Creating a dummies guide styled fact sheet would aid them in talking about VOIP or other issues and if they use our facts they'll be FUD free.

Build a collection and append the URL to every release:

IrelandOffline's Guide To The Internet For "Technology Journalists"

Might want to get rid of the quotes though. :)

The term "Briefing Guide" is nice actually, informative without being patronising. Very CJ Cregg.
