    Hi all

Just a question about the NCT. will I fail with a cracked wingmirror glass?
Just checking I probably will knowing that shower of non-mechanics. Last time I went back for a re-test for a wishbone replacement and the guy had the bonnet open!!! Ass-holes

I don't think so, but they won't notice it! As you point out... they think the suspension is under the bonnet so where do they think a wing mirror is?

It depends on how cracked it is - is it cracked enough to impair the view in the mirror?

You can have a look through the NCT testing manual here: http://www.transport.ie/upload/general/5815-0.pdf

    Reason for failure:
"Reflecting surface deteriorated or broken so as to impair the driver's view."

As it is a visual inspection, there will be no fee for a re-test if this causes a failure

Reason for Failure: Man's fist impaired my ability to work!! :)
