So first you say that he wrote all of Ridhe The Lightning...then you go on to say that he only wrote two songs on the album?....hhhmm contradiction is a sign of a bad arguement.

It seems he only contributed to three songs on Kill 'Em All, two on Ride The Lightning and I can't seem to find anywhere that gives him credit for anything on Puppets, so I'm disregarding that.

Note my use of the word contributed, for all you know that could mean he wrote one note, or one riff, so stop referrign to it as his material.

LOL. Keep convincing yourself mate, you're not convincing anyone else. Contribution isn't a strong enough word for what Mustaine did for Metallica.

I have noted it already. And it is his material. So please give us all a break from your immensely poor arguement. Metallica cannot be defended here.

I never said that he wrote the WHOLE album, I said that Kill Em All would never have been released without Mustaine's "contribution", as you call it...

Dont know about being a stupid argument, its an interesting one given the history of the two.

From a personal point of view I would probably say Metallica, but whats really strange is that these days I tend to choose Rust In Peace to listen to before any of Metallica's finest. Go figure.

I'd have to say Metallica. I just don't really like many Megadeath songs. Also Metallica can cover so many areas, like Fade To Black and The Call of Ktulu...

BTW James and Lars have practically wrote *every* Metallica song, with people like Dave Mustaine and Kirk Hammett adding their own parts in since they are the lead guitarists...

*apart from stuff like Anesthesia(pulling teeth) which was by Cliff...

Dave Mustaine...lead guitarist...only writes his own little bits...hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...theres a comedian in our midst lads, Mustaine wrote s**tloads of early metallica and almost 100% of Megadeths material, himself and james shared lead when he was with metallica and in Megadeth hes the rhythm guitarist

Look its ridiculusly easy to answer this question,in terms of absolutely everything megadeth beat and in some cases kick the hole off metallica,

first of all talent:mustaine would beat hammet and hetfields asses at a guitar off and every other guitarist thats ever played with megadeth on lead is as good if not better than him,all the various drummers show far more flair than that retard lars also,then theres elfson,although he is exelent cliff destroys him,he beats newstead and although a lot of people dont think this just cuz he got in on a **** album rob is better than elfson at playing.

then theres songwriting-well heres where its all subjective but if you think of i correct you see that megadeth are better at writing music and dont give me any sh!t bout metallica being better cuz if your a true metalhead and not some retard who likes st. anger(possibly the worst album ever)youll understand that there is no need for a light song to sell out with.Metallica though i have to admit wrote better lyrics back in the days of the first 4 albums but ever since black album theyve been terrible,eg invisible kid.megadeth however keep there great lyrics throughout.

James is a brilliant singer , way better than Dave,one bad album and everybody is saying metallica sold out :rolleyes: not even bad actually just not as great as the others , I wouldnt exactly call a member of Metallica who is a multi millionaire and a fantastic drummer a retard either :rolleyes:

Were debatign about which is a better band and which produces the better material...not who is a better lead guitarist or anything else.
On that note...does the fact the Megadeth have constantly differnet line up not say anything to you?

Well if you listen to any recent live stuff, his drumming is absoloutly crap... Not just jumping on the "bash Lars" bandwagon here but this is my persoal opinion... His drumming on "Live ****..." sounds great but anything recent sounds ****e, especially in the past 2 years.

I'd have to disagree. Megadeth may be better at writing hair/thrash metal (whatever category you want to put them in) Metallicas albums have quite obviously been more musical then anything Megadeth have written.

Are you crazy megadeth write far better material,think of it there both thrash metal well metallica arent anymore cus they are now sellout pop metal,but back to my point they both origionated as thrash metal.there is way more intensity in megadeths music and you can just tell that the music is far superior even if you arent a musician and the lyrics from all metallica albums post 1989 have sucked,negadeth win that one man.
