    afaik big names brands that had a hand in setting up DVD in the first place like Philips and Panasonic don't have region free codes built in to their machines only the cheapy DVD players
    so buy a cheap one for €40 from Argos and use that

    the DAV-S300 cannot be unlocked by remote control, you actually haver to build a chip into it, here is a link if you need one

    You need to chip this device for region free.

    Dunser, i have the code for this at home, i got it off the web and i burnt it to a cd and it works a treat, i couldnt believe it, its the only sony i have ever cracked and it plays multi region dvd's now
    i'll try and dig out the code for you....

    Sorry to jump into a thread, but I looking to purchase the Sony DAV - SB300:

    As I have region 1 and region 3 DVD's - will I not be able to view them on this system?

    Is there a hack for them?

    Don't really want to buy it if I can't watch all my DVD's on it?

    Can anyone advise?
