Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

First best one that comes to mind is the X-Men animated series.

    Jayzuz that rocked.

Intro or theme tune? 'Coz to my mind the intro is the combination of music + title sequence whereas the theme tune is just the music.

Going with the title sequences, I might pick 'Millennium' for its lovely dreary pastel-like intro and downbeat score.
Or 'Battlestar Galactica' - both versions really: the 1978 one for it's uplifting Star Wars score, and the '04 re-imagining for its haunting voice. Both with great visuals.

Purely on a theme tune, the soothing haunting melody of Badalamenti's "Twin Peaks" probably wins overall.

For kitsch value: Dogtanian and the Three Muskehounds, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Ulysses 31, Inspector Gadget.

I've got about 250 of these at home...

Good call, brother! Used to get strange looks from my mates for throwing that tune on at almost ever opportunity.

btw.. my X-Men vote was for the theme obviously. The actual intro wasn't anything spectacular.

    The fall guy
    =============
    Contained
    1) Stunt from movies (Stunts, remember them?)
    2) Hot women in Bikini's
    3) Lots of shots of Colt Seavers brown pick-up truck bouncing around like a spring on it's physics-defying suspension.
    4) A great theme tune "The Ballad of the Unknown Stuntman" (sung by Lee Majors himself apparently and with lyrics that I did didn't full grasp at the time .... but certainly do now.)

My fav is Dogatnian and the muskahounds. theres even a line near the end that sounds just like 'shagging everyone is fun' or something along those lines.

Nope, not family guy. Try sitting through a DVD box set or two and you'll HATE that feckin' song.

I'd say MacGyver, BSG (old), Stargate SG1, and Knightrider (in all its synthy cheesy glory).

Aye, every site has a different set of lyrics. Judge for yourself by listening to it here .
    Possibly the lyrics:
One for all and all for one,
    Muskehounds are already ready,
One for all and all for one,
    Helping everybody,

One for all and all for one,
    It's a pretty story,
    Sharing everything is fun,
    Thats the way to be.

One for all and all for one,
    Muskehounds are already steady,
One for all and all for one,
    Helping everybody,

One for all and all for one,
    Can sound pretty corny,
If you've got a problem, chum,
    Think how it could be.

    Chorus
(da da da, da da da)
They cross their hearts and pray,
(da da da, da da da)
They cross their swords night ending,
(da da da, da da da)
They drink a beer and swear they're faithful to their king,
(da da da, da da da)
    No matter what you say,
(da da da, da da da)
    They're never far away,
(da da da, da da da)
They're always ready to fight or to sing.

The theme tune to "The Shield" is pretty good

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 55,537 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

The theme tune/intro for Point Pleasant is very good (Danny Elfman + creepy animated birds = good intro).

The intro to Lost is also very simple, but powerful... Not much of a theme tune though! :)

Page two and no mention of the theme to Hill Street Blues  . It's a classic instrumental by Mike Post . Blue Peter would be another favourite of mine , Mike Oldfield did a good version in the eighties.

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire...the A-Team.
