Stepping down as Soccer Mod

Ok just a quick note. Due to the increased workload from Politics and being a Category Mod for the Society section (and real-life) I am stepping down as moderator on this forum effective from today.

Talla and Thanx as well as the Vagga have been great lads to co-mod with and I am sure you will all give them the support they need in future.

there's prob more to being a mod than that but eirebhoy wouldn't be the worst choice all the same.

Might need an expeirenced head though - cos soccer has consistently been the hardest brief for a mod as long as I've been on boards

I'm not is sure but if there was I can only say good things about eirebhoy.

There will possibly be 2 new mods, as the Vaggabond officially resigned from Soccer last week as he hasnt been around the soccer forum for a long time.

Sorry to see ya go Gandalf , many considered you a very strict moderater , but your decisions always seemed to be justified , thanks for your fairness and assesment of what should be done in situations .

As for any new mod that would be appointed , I would also think Eirebhoy is the perfect candidate , although im struggling to think of a second one .

Johnny and Yop thanks for the vote but I'd sooner buy a Man Utd away strip than Mod this bear-pit! I've discovered with Motors that a busy forum is a suprising amount of work, so modding a frantic forum like soccer would be quite beyond me.

...me bows out.

But I think eireboy would be very good (sorry eireboy!).

sure dont the mods always decide who to give these jobs to themselves, and boards is probably the most incestuous place around, so i reckon we will have new mods that are not even involved with soccer right now, just buddies of other mods or the devs.

in a perfect democratic system i would vote for Eirebhoy and seansouth. Eirebhoy because the chap pulls stats out of his arse and is more interested in the online aspect of soccer than anyone ive ever known or met. he has plenty of experience of soccer boards from here and many other places and he never gives anyone grief either.

seansouth because hes about the most dedicated EL fan around here, and it would be nice to see boards recognising the Irishness of the board and encouraging more EL posts.

Thanks for the kind words all. The Soccer mods will be deciding who the mods are and they are looking at the names here. I will also be sending who I think would be good. Draupnir there is no way a mod who has nothing to do with this forum would go near here

The admins will have the final say but hey its their party we are just guests !!!
