Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

RedBrick, DCU's networking society, are running a wireless competition very soon.

Inspired by the DefCon Running Man competition, WaveHunt is a fun event for Ireland's technical community that will test your network and direction finding skills, and possibly even win you some money!

Individuals and teams of two people will have an hour to locate a hidden, moving wireless access point. Entrants will require a laptop/PDA and suitable wireless network detection software.

Entrants must use the data & graphs from their laptop/PDA to track and positively identify the carrier - the person carrying the wireless access point.

The customised wireless access point will be serving a small website. On this website is a question. This question, combined with knowledge of who the carrier is, will give entrants the answer they need to win. Winners will be decided by the fastest times to report the correct answer over two or three varying runs of the competition.

The venue for this unusual event is Dublin City Centre - Temple Bar and Stephen's Green park.

The first prize is two hundred euro!

It's on the weekend after next, Saturday March 5th.
