The black schemes? Dunno, can't look at them for more than a minute without going nuts.

White is the easiest on the eyes for me; I think I was originally looking for something closest in appearance to the vb2 forums as possible (the "Classic" skin is a joke, it's all freakin purple).

We're doing an interface design module in college at the moment and we're covering how we see and hear things. Apparently a dark background with light text is the easiest to read with a contrast ratio of somewhere between 70-30 percent. So a grey background with white letters is good. I think its about reducing the amount of light hitting your eye and so making it do less work. Also you eye will focus on what's the most bright on a screen first and you want people to focus on the text.
