A question for all the home maintenance types: where do you bring your used engine/gearbox oil, coolant etc for recycling? How much does it cost?

What about Folks living outside 'The Pale' ? :D

I know my local authority recycling centre has a place to dispose of used oil - haven't used it yet (I have an almost-full 5 gallon drum of used oil to recycle soon).

Did anybody ever use a local garage to recycle used oil ?

local garages dont recycle oil they burn it, they have these large heaters that burn used engine oil to provide heat. u may be able to add it to your oil central heating kerosene as oil boilers arent fusy about fuel but dont blame me...................................

Most local authorities seem to have oil recyling facilities now but if your on good terms with your local mechanic he'll proberly oblige ditto batteries.
