Fair dues for the coverage they give to those leagues. It would be beyond the imagination of RTE to show continental football. Even S4C, have highlights from Spain, Italy and Germany.

But, I have to ask where Setanta get the commentators from. One commentator talks faster than Dave Fanning and mumbles progressively more as he goes through a sentence.

The commentary tactics are poor. They show the scores at the start of the programme and even say which side wins during the team selection screen.

The commentary is in past tense, unlike S4C where they comment on the highlights as if it were live.

Reggina v Lazio game had 3 sendings off. They didn't show what for, not even said what for.

Do we not get them over here?

I assume we do, they showed a French cup game either last week or the week before and we could see it here. Hold on I'll check the sky listings.

EDIT - no, no sign of them

Though the Milan derby more than makes up for it.

I e-mailed them about the live matches on the UK version and they said in a few weeks both versions will have the same live matches.

If you haven't got NTL or Sky card, you can get this game on a Lidl dish.

Portugal channel RTP is showing it along with a few more European channels.

The second leg is on ITV2. Much more tricky to get.

looking at the spl coverage last weekend they said there would be live Bundesliga at 4.30pm. instead we got schoolboy rugby :mad:

Just a reminder for all you closet Boro fans out there that the game (v Lisbon) is live on Setanta tonight. Hopefully not having half a team wont impede us too too much. Come on the Boro!
