    Yeah.. it IS strange.

And anyway why would you want to go through all that effort just to make jam?? I could put all those berries and that sugar to FAR better use, and probably a lot easier..

The taste is far superior when you make home made jam - there are no preservatives..... They add sulphur dioxide to preserve the jams commercially, turning all the fruit brown and so that have to add food colourings...... its a mess......

    Make it yourself!

Yeah but you can't get drunk off jam..

Ape - I challenge you that you can get drunk of jam - eat 20 big jars and all will be proved.........

Dr Indy, it's not all Dubliners who are stupid enough to believe a cow's a bull, it's all those who are stupid enough to go to the Gaeltacht. Of course, the fact that I live within walking distance of a farm and live in an area that until very recently was classed as a village I suppose I'm not a real Dubliner. But my family are all from Dublin (my mother was born where the Ginger Man now is but the ****ers won't give me free drink).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,523 ✭✭✭ApeXaviour

Probably shouldn't challenge me to these things..

I'll put it to a thought experiment first:

Dec eats one large jar, begins on second, throws up contents of first large jar into second. Eats second anyway, throws it up again.. exhaustive process continues until all of the 20 large jars have spent at least some time in decs stomach.

Even if I could keep them all down, may I ask where the intoxicating ingredient is here?

Much better to just give all that sugar and fruit to me and I'll give you something that will actually make you pissed..

i think apex is trying to send subliminal brewing/distilling messages.

You could get intoxicated through sniffing it. Probably not a good thing to try though.

Why, why would someone do that!

Apex you seem to have a bit of a thing about "gastrointestinal challenges", do you not hate making yourself sick? Totally rip the lining out of your throat!

    Exactly.

You'd be wasting all the pectiny goodness that keeps you healthy. And besides, I've made blackberry wine myself, and it wasn't very nice.

    Where DO you live?

I did it right, cos I had the assistance of experienced brewers/distillers (they lived in Saudi Arabia for 10 years)...but it was just yuck.
    Noitacol

That sounds like some kind of laxative.

What the hell does "Noitacol" mean? I've never heard of it before... :/

I saw the flyers for that yesterday. I cant recall exactly what they said but I think it was something along the lines of "Tired of waking to a mess. Take home a nurse!" Very persuasive.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,095 ✭✭✭Chick

They're up in the Buttery and say "Tired of waiting for a doctor? Come to the nurses after hour service"!

Come on ppl, we needs loadsa guys to come! it's only €5 and there is 200 girls on our course....!!!

    Doesn't matter

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,095 ✭✭✭Chick

Ohhh.... Guy running it. Hmm well alright that's up to you

Ok well you're right, doesn't matter, cos I don't want this to turn into a conversation like the one about Eddie... where you slag someone and I vehemently defend them etc etc... :D

    EDIT:
Plus it's kinda weird talking about someone on the internet really

Firstly, I've no problem with the guy that set it up, seems very nice.
secondly, you don't seem to know who I'm talking about otherwise I wouldn't have to explain why i find the posters amusing.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,095 ✭✭✭Chick

Yeah I think I've crossed wires here then
Plus there's tonnes of different posters, so I dunno which ones you mean

    Sorry :(
