Maybe building an extension and want to buy an old Toyota Dyna pick-up but will need commercial insurance for it.My own insurer will not cover commercials under my policy due to it being on a group scheme.

I have a standard licence which will do for the weight and size of the pickup.

Is there anything I need to have or not to say when ringing up an insurance company.
I will only need cover for 1 year and then the pick-up will be sold..
Is it possible to do this ??

    Any info would help

    thx

Don't see why you can't insure a commercial vehicle 'privately' - probably just a matter of ringing around for quotes.

Try J.F. Dunne Ins Co, Kill, Co.Kildare - they insure a lot of commercials.

(P.S.- Alfasudcrazy has his VW Van insured privately)

You should have no problem whatsoever getting insurance privately. Pretty much every tradesman in the country has private commercial insurance for their work vechicle.
