Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

How can anybody take this guy seriously anymore? I've long since suspected that he basically makes it up as he goes along and will say anything, absolutley anything to hype up whatever game Sky has coverage of. He's basically a mouth peice of Skys marketing team rather than someone who will give their honest opinion on football, but today was absolutley taking the mick.

In an attempt to hype up the essentially meaningless match that is the carling cup final, he came out with an absolute gem. He said something along the lines of "This is the biggest and most important game of Mourinhos career" I mean seriously, wtf :D How do people actually listen to this bloke? I doubt think Sky have ever covered a poor and meaningless game with him around.

I think Brian Clough said something along the lines of "The only time Sky will stop telling you how brilliant the crap game you're watching is, is when they want to tell you how brilliant the next game they have coverage of is". Something along those lines anyway, but today just took the biscuit.

Sky's bias towards the Premier League is a joke. Again the Premier League was shown to be fairly average after another round of poor results for English teams in the Champions League in midweek. Being brainwashed by Sky all through the season, it's easy to forgot that the English Premier League is not the best league in Europe, and it certainly doesn't have the best teams in Europe.

Sky will never play down the Premier League seeing as it's one of their main products. They will always say it's the best league in the world, etc...

And I agree, I'd love to see Andy Gray kicked off their commentating panel. He's constantly talking over the main commentator. He always seems to think he's the main commentator, talking as if he knows it all.

On another point, did anyone thing the music / lights going off thing for when they were bringing out the League Cup (under military escort :D ) was a bit much?

I'm sure Mourinho would say himself that the next game is the most important of his career ;)

Andy Gray is a tool. He is very hard to listen to. Makes Beglin sound informed and classy.

Jim Beglins classic line: "He JUST did enough".

Next time he's on have a listen for the number of times he says that.

They're all better than Motto though, he exaggerates things to the extent where he makes the simplest things sound like a penalty in the 90th minute of a cup final.

Motto is embarassingly past it at this stage, beeb need to get someone new in.

'They will always say it's the best league in the world'

actually Sky know the English league is not the best in the world (obviosuly) , so they don't actually say best they say 'most exciting'

and as for the league cup , I think its less meaningless than it used to be .
Afterall the sides competing in the last four were : Chelsea , Man United , Liverpool and Watford .

The FA Cup isn't going to have 3 teams from the top 5 positions in England .
So it goes to show the big teams are taking it more seriously now days , it may not be huge , but its not meaningless even for the top teams .

It's the least important competition Chelsea were in and by some distance. The final last year was Bolton Boro ffs. And I'm pretty sure they've called the premiership the best in the world.

Do you mean its the competition Chelsea were least interested in?

When you compare Chelseas XI in the FA Cup last week to their XI in the last two league games I'd have to disagree

    vs Newcastle:
Squad: Cudicini, Johnson, Gallas, Carvalho, Bridge, Jarosik, Smertin, Tiago (Gudjohnsen 45), Geremi (Lampard 45), Kezman, Cole (Duff 45)

vs Man Utd (1/2 final, second leg):
Squad: Cech, Ferreira, Gallas, Terry, Bridge, Makelele, Lampard, Tiago, Robben (Cole 90), Drogba (Gudjohnsen 68), Duff (Jarosik 87)

Okay, you can argue that they had to play Barcelona 2 days after Newcastle, but I still think Mourinho gave each competition an equal merit. He rested players when he could, against West Ham and Fulham, but each time they had a big game he plays his strongest possible XI.

I can't believe you could possibley argue he'd rather win the league cup than FA cup. It's just wrong. He played a strong side in the semi final and final but I really doubt he was bothered what happened. The FA cup he'd be more bothered about but would still be well behind the champions league and premiership.

What I find amazing is how much the players get so emotional come the final yet only 2 or 3 games previously Liverpool had a bunch of kids out.

I didnt say that, I said he gave each competition an equal merit. Chelsea beat Newcastle in the Carling Cup and lost to them in the FA Cup, so I don't really think you can argue against that.

    Anyway, this is very off-topic.

Biggest problem with Gray now is that he has too much influence within sky, they seems to be sharing the big games about with the commentators now but Gray is always the co-commentator.

Anyway commenters talk way too much these days filling the air with inane drivel 90% of the time, all right on the radio but we can ****ing see what is happening ourselves

While we're on a bitch about commentators, I have to complain about in incesint use of the phrase, "He's done ever so well". Alan Smith and Brian Marwood just can't stop saying it, totally recking my head.

Why can't Gerry Armstrong do every match? Imo he's been the best of Sky lads in the last few years.

Him and Sky's other main spanish commenatator(kevin Keatings) are the best pair of english speaking commentators in the world , if only they did the Ireland games on sky :( .

I'm no fan of the spanish team either, bar the main guy who's actually Spanish who's name I wont attempt to spell. Too biased towards Real and Beckham and Owen, as they're the main draw. Apart from that they are excellent though.

Guillem Balague is the guy , although ive have undoubtedly spelt it wrong .
