Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not the mae west alright. Could have been so much better if that Sheff Utd had scored that chance in the first minute

Cross by Crouch, is there anything the big man can't do? Buy him back Villa, all is forgiven Peter.

    Brentford 1 - Southampton 3

    Crouch again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,592 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    Blackburn 2 Burnley 1

    Pedersen

Second half of the Arsenal game is more entertaining than the first. But it looks like whoever makes the silliest mistake will lose the match.

F.T. Sheff Utd 0-0 Aresnal ET to be played...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 41,926 ✭✭✭✭_blank_

    Full Time at Bramall Lane.

    0-0 in to ET.

Sheff United had a brilliant chance in injury time.

I can only see Arsenal winning in ET, I'd say they are fitter.

But hopefully we'll see penalties (hopefully for the neutrals anyway!)

Pity for Burnley and Brentford, here's hoping Sheff Utd can do something special or hold out for penalties! Love to see them do it! :D

Have to agree with you there, poor old Sheffield look like they have already given everything they have. Arsenal's chances in the last 15 minutes for Arsenal came about because of gaps left open by Sheffield's defence due to tired legs.

What a shot by Fabregas that hit the bar, really deserved to go in.

    Come on Arsenal!!!

why did Fabregas get taken off ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,766 ✭✭✭robbie1876

Toure on for Febragas. Suprised to see Fabregas coming off, he's had a great game. Kolo will press forward, he has a striker's instinct.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,341 ✭✭✭✭Chucky the tree

fabergas is still young, and he was probaly taken off to rest him.

    ET Half Time.

    Still deadlocked.

    Prediction : No goals.

IF it goes to Panalties, and IF Ljunberg takes one, he'll miss.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,766 ✭✭✭robbie1876

Oh crap, penalties. Arsenal will lose it on penalties.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,341 ✭✭✭✭Chucky the tree

being a neutral, i hope arsenal go through.

Finished 4-2 to Arsenal on penalties. Great set of penalties from Arsenal, all very well taken. Well done Almunia for his two saves.

Great evening, this type of game is what the FA cup is all about.

penalty masterclass from the arse - shame for United they gave their all

Kenny played brilliantly, even for being injured. A good game, altogether-hopefully,we'll see more like it in the next round!!

Kenny couldn't dive to his right because of his hip so it wasn't too difficult for Arsenal to get the win in the end. :) I wouldn't be as worried if Given got injured after seeing Paddy Kenny's performances this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,458 ✭✭✭✭gandalf

Thank god for that. I will never say anything bad about Almunia again :D

Fair play to Sheffield United they played very well. Ah well Bolton here we come !!!

We may have to hold you to that!

Good to see the big man Crouch notched up a brace today, thats 4 in 4 in the cup and 9 in his last 11 Saints games, if my calulations are correct.

Haha, I was coming in to post both those points. Was a sorry sight in the end, Kenny just flopping to his left everytime. Pity none of the Arsenal players tried to show off and actually take a good penalty :( Hehe. Maybe if he stood backwards, faced the net like, and fell to his left when the ref blew his whistle?! :D

Good match last night. Really exciting towards the end. Sheffield Utd.'s captain Morgan was immense for his side as was Paddy Kenny, pity they had to be on the loosing side, but they did themselves proud on the night.

Had to laugh every time an Arsenal player got fouled and all the Sheffield Utd. supporters would start chanting "Same old Arsenal, Always Cheating!!"
Ya gotta love the total disrespect for the bigger clubs. :D
