DTM Mirror Electric Question

Hi there, got a set of electric dtm mirrors for my audi a4 - problem is - wiring for the audi has 4 wires going to the mirror, the dtm mirror has only 3, i am thinking the extra wire is the the original mirror to be heated? anyone any ideas? cheers D

The fourth wire as you said could also be for the heating element or maybe it could also be for electrically operated folding mirrors. This was an optional extra on Audis and VWs when new.
