Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was thinking about buying a slide and just messing around with it. Is this advisable? Should I get a lesson or 2 first?

Just tune your guitar to an open tuning and mess around with the slide. Preferably your action should be set a bit high for slide playing but I doubt you'll be playing slide all the time to warrant changing the action on your guitar. I play slide quite a lot and I've never bothered.

I've been toying with this idea myself recently - anything to offer a bit of differentiation or deviation from song to song. I'm not an oasis fan but I always liked that song 'fade in/out' with Johnny Depp playing real simple slide guitar and another electric guitar and an acoustic driving along with chords at the same time. A real nice blend I always thought!
