Just got v 5.24 firmware for nokia 6230

I got the firmware on my Nokia 6230 updated in the Telephone Centre on Dawson street (it took a couple of hours). Haven't had much of a chance to play with it yet but it has cleared up one of the most annoying problems - not being able to read caller id info against a dark wallpaper. It also fixes the VF□ operator logo bug. With this firmware it shows up as "VFI", but this is normal since Vodafone transmit two names over the GPRS network, one is "VFI" and the other is "Vodafone-Ireland".

If you never use GPRS it will remain at "vodafone IE" (or Eircell if you've an old SIM, lol).

Yeah you're right! Just spotted it now that my VF□ logo has gone back to Eircell. The firmware version I ended up with was 5.35 btw.
