Bloc Party, Kaiser Chiefs and Kasabian. But I have little interest in any of them.

Yup, and I'll be seeing them with Slayer, whether some bouncer likes it or not.

I think Wolf Eyes will have a breakaway pop hit.

    Legal mp3 (800kb)

I wish I was joking but they were the only new band that interested me at all from 2004.

cant really see bloc party getting much bigger than they are already.. they have released 4 songs off silent alarm already and its only out 2 or so weeks. I can see the bravery being incredibly popular this year. willy mason is great aswell..

Are we all agreed that Mastodon are cool???

Well, there's always people who've yet to develop any taste, but all those who count likely agree.

Scissor sisters seem to be way popular than I thought, they have a new album out soon.

The next big thing should be Louis XIV. They're from San Diego and there's a video for their single "Paper Dolls" available on the net. I'd include a link but it's on the SuicideGirls website, however I reckon most people have mastered Google by now. The rest of the album has tracks influenced by The Kinks and T-Rex and is definitely worth checking out.

People are lapping up Velvet Revolver this year, though i'm not a fan myself.

This Is Menace was an entertaining set up.

There is very little else on offer.

Green Day, Killers or Franz Ferdinand

razorlight are so cool, they should have a good year.
killers are wildy, wildy overhyped - musical equivalent of the da vinci code, pretty good, but not all that.

also green day are huge atm, finally found some serious punk cred. imo

Surely going (even more) mainstream reduces your (real) punk credibility?

not really, but a more politically conscious album does...either way they've gone up alot in my books

oops, forgot the kaiser chiefs - they're so fun, and look awsome live

would like to say 200X was qotsa's year but if you had to, you would say that was probably 2003, and even then they only really had one massive hit. Have to say i was disappointed by lulabies. Amazing band tho imo, finally got round to listening to Rated R and i am very impressed. I hope their next album would be better and a return to the sound of songs for the deaf. That is presuming the band are still around to make another album, not sidetracked by other projects like the eagles of death metal.

I think Muse could potentially become even bigger as long as they release some solid material and don't become to obscure as to alienate people too much in order to be considered "prog."

I think Jello Biafra may disagree... haha :D

Babyshambles will definitely be massive (wait to you hear F**k Forever)
Franz may become even bigger but 2nd albums are notoriously dodgy
Oasis should become massive again (Don't Believe the Truth is absolutley superb)
QOTSA should be even bigger than they are (I mean biggest band in the world)
Watch out for a band called The Arctic Monkeys. Maybe 2006 will be their year... no it will be their year!
Hopefully AC/DC may have a new album to show the world they are the best Metal band ever
Hard-fi are going to be big
