If System of a Down's next album in September is better than Mezmerize, they'll be huge.

Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Trivium, Mastadon, NIN. They will all (should) be big in 2006 too. Trivium are soooo good. Ascendancy is amazing. I cannot wait to hear their third offering.

The new Blind Guardian album comes out 2006 aswell, really looking forward to that.

Very very tempted to go see them in Belgium first week in May as a little birthday present to myself.

I guess Babyshambles weren't as big as people thought.
Louis XIV are great, by the way. Maybe next year, will be their year.

    em..... The mars volta.........

Bloc Party really imprssed me, as did Mastodon's Leviathan. Must say I'm a little dissappointed in Rammstein, and a little more in System Of A Down.

I'd say the Black Dahlia Murder had a fantastic year. Misama got damned good reviews, and they seem to be breaking into the "mainstream" now :D

    And Mastadon do,indeed,ROCK!

I've been soaking in so much Nightwish this year, so that;s my pick of the crop.

But System Of A Down have also kept me entertained for the last 12 months. Trivium also impressed me a ****load at Download, but I haven't actually gone through the effort of getting any of their stuff yet.

I can't believe the lack of votes for Nevermore. Their new album is easily one of the best metal albums this year...

    I agree, excellent album.

To be pedantic though, the Atheist re-issues overshadow just about everything else.

Yeah,Doctor J told me about Nevermore so i got This Godless Endeavor.
It's a very very good album.Took a little bit for me to get used to the singing, but i got used to it the same way i did for Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning.

Album of the year for me personally would be Chimaira's with Nevermore a close second.

I heard Bloc Party for the first time last night, I have to say, they know how write a good tune.

My personal best band of 2005 is probably The Mars Volta or Thrice.

Though I bet SOAD have sold a ****load of albums this year.

Bullet For My Valentine are woeful. Really just woeful. A couple a decent metal riffs and leads in there, yeah, but it's nothing that hasn't been peddled over and over again since the 1980's. Like most metalcore.

I shouldn't dignify that Atreyu comment with an answer, but, yeah, they're worse than BFMV.
    AX7 are nothing but a joke. :)
