    • A Range officer will be appointed to each shooter to ensure safety and
      also to affirm spinner hits.
    • Rifles to be shown to be clear to head range officer before leaving
      firing point.
    • 10 points per spinner hit.
    • 20 points deducted for each and any shot fired after time expired.
    • All targets will be positioned at 25 yards including 100-yard size

Don't worry its not nearly as complicated as it sounds and much more fun than what we are used to. In practice the first part was shot with 24 seconds remaining and the second part shot with 38 seconds remaining but not with great scores!

Sounds like it's going to be interesting, though it's a pity it conflicts with the RRPC Spring Special (but there's only so much you can do with calendars, and besides, you could make it from RRPC to Fingal in time to shoot both competitions if you really wanted to :D ).

(Perhaps children should be made wear hearing protection though, to avoid learning new words when someone fumbles with a round while reloading their mags in Part 2 under the lash of the second hand :D And on a serious note, it's reassuring to see safety being taken seriously with a Range Officer per shooter. Good form lads! )

Just stickying this until after it's happened...

(Terrier, I don't have directions to the Fingal range I'm afraid, and can't find any online. Anyone else have directions?)

Maybe you could borrow one for the day Ben? I don't think that's a violation of firearms law. Or perhaps FRC could help with this?

    Hi Lads.
The 1st NASRC Gallery Bolt Action took place at Fingal last Sunday as posted. All 30 competitors had a very enjoyable day. I must say it made us all very equal. There was no classification system in place so the expert competed against the novice. All did equally well. Yes we fumbled, cursed, pleaded for leniency when we made mistakes, but took it in the chin and kept going. The banter was "uncensored" and all left happy. John Walls and his team provided excellent facilities. Shooters had their spots as did the spectators. This was the first time at a National event that the spectators were not in the stats. office. They were all to interested in the goings on at the Firing Point. I have no doubt that the attendance would have been much higher but for clashes with other events - sorry lads but hope to see you next time.
