Short version ... next months PC Format magazine (available end of this month probably) has the *FULL* game plus a free months trial.

Now you've no excuse for not trying it. I know we've a few PS players on here, so we can all give conflicting oppinions on which faction you should join and why

Expansion - there's only been one, Core Combat - and I doubt it. 'Aftershock' was just a re-release of the original planetside with a patched client install, done to coincide with BFR release. By no means is core combat required or even needed to play.. and iirc it only costs $10 off planetside.com if you want to get it anyway.

I may be wrong but I thought Aftershock did include the Core Combat expansion.

Either way, CC isn't necessary to play ... you get access to 90% of the toys without it.
