    Hi All,

I am reading in Speech from a NIDAQ card in Matlab. I have an external cct built to take the microphone input, amplify it and feed it to one of the differential inputs on the NIDAQ card. The other differential input is grounded.

It works fine sometimes but other times I just spikes of DC(noise) interfering. It is very bad. It seems to repeat at a freq of 50Hz so I think it is mains interference.

Can anyone tell me how to design a notch filter in Matlab to get rid of this. I was thinking of using the fir1 function?

    Thanks for any help.
