Went over there a couple of years ago and had a good time, but we knew someone who lived in the city and knew all the places to go. When we went over the travelling Munich Oktoberfest was in town and that was good fun.

The town really hasn't that much to do in it, threre are about 4 or 5 irish bars in the town centre but you should really go to the Belgian bars for a good time " le Carbeau" Is good fun, you get your beer in Yards and you are encouraged to dance on the tables ( bit dangerous after a few pints ) Then there's an Irish night club (if you could call it that) called the Celtica It might be a good place to start off from as a lot of the Belgians don't speak very good english, so you might want to brush up on your french.

The touristy things to do are " la grande place" it is very nice at night, it is a square with some lovely architecture. If you could, stay somewhere close to hear as it is more or less in the centre of the town.

Haven't much more info for ya as it was a couple of years ago and i was drinkin for most of it.
