Some of that might have something to do with the doubts over Andrew Thornton. May yet be nothin to worry about. Certainly hope not, because that would be very cruel after the late absence last year.

Beef or Salmon trading as favourite on betfair. (@6.4)

Kingscliff hasn't done enough to be favourite IMO. Beef or Salmon has the best form this year.

There really can be no favourite, holes can be picked in all the main candidates, that's the one upside of Best Mate's absence, it's wide open. It's like when Istabraq departed the Champion Hurdle scene, it was up for grabs.

What about Farmer Jack's supplementing, little comment about it so far, his Racing Post Chase win was impressive (the best since Gloria Victis), he beat CG and SF at Newbury and does have a turn of foot. He's an interesting contender.

Well Kingscliff has settled back down to 7.0 on BetFair... he was generally 7.8 (actully he touched 10 for a bit) last night and actully had a 20.0 trade... shocking

If they werent going to run Farmer JAck in the Daily Telegraph because he didnt like the course, he still wont like it in the Gold Cup. He has to prove that he stays the gold cup distance as well. Has jumped well the last twice, but with Grey Abbey harrying him, he has plenty of questions to answer. Those behind him at Newbury will fancy their chances of reversing the form. He is about the right price.

**** **** ****... Obviously the punters out there know something I don't. As I have a 60 euro double with Hardy Eustace and Kingscliff (ante-post odds) the best case scenario for me would be for Kingscliff to be pulled out and the double to be transformed into a single...ARGH.

Asides from that, why the hell is Beef or Salmon trading as favourite? He cannot jump at speed under pressure regardless of present form.
