    Roughy Mid 2001 is the ballpark figure, but really it's anyones guess.

    BTW... the following may interest you. It was in Volta's most recent newsletter:

    The ESB is planning to set up a national telecommunications infrastructure and
    re-establish itself as a player in the telecoms sector following the sale
    of its stake in Ocean to BT earlier this year. ESB International (ESBI) has
    applied for a telecoms licence and intends to roll-out a fibre optic
    broadband network. It is already developing this broadband strategy by
    laying fibre-optic cable onto existing electricity networks. This
    deployment of the network excludes the need to dig up roads and streets and
    will be a welcome relief to hundreds of thousands of dis-illusioned
    pot-holed-out motorists. A broadband network between Dublin and Limerick is
    already under construction and the 193 km network expected to be finished
    early in the new year.
