Dynamic Frame Resizing

Ok a simple problem.
How do I resize a frame (not a floating frame mind u) from say x to y whilst keeping the other frame independant i.e. not having to reload it.

Just as an example, how would I resize a sidebar frame to basically disappear while not affecting the main page?

Javascript might do it, but if there is a html way...?
If not ne1 know where I might find such a javascript as my experience at such things is limited.

I doubt there's a HTML way to do that, but Javascript can. Check out http://www.developer.irt.org/script/frame.htm for a whole load of FAQs on javascript and frames, you'll want to look at Q787 (http://www.developer.irt.org/script/787.htm), "Is it possible to resize a frameset?".

Generally irt.org is a good place for questions like this.
