Just a question, how do you become Mods, apart from having 1,000s of posts,

But do you operate from home or do some of you go to work in a company mod'in the boards,
BTW You know the vBulletin format how do you create it, as im on the Cloud one which is cool i might say.

Thanks anyway if you get to reply to this post.

Gather 100,000 tokens from kelloggs cornflakes.

    Post to
    Boards.ie,
    123 fake street,
    Dublin 99.

    Registered mail of course.

    Standard response

    Alternatively;
1.Put some work into a forum you like.
2.Get noticed by admin as splendid fellow.
    3.Be appointed by admins.
4.Go power mad and be sacked
    5.Register new nick and repeat.

Tip:Try not to give away that your a nutcase between steps 1-3

    1) Post count is not a factor per say, but ofc the more non spammy posts you have the more likely you are to be "trusted". I'm still baffled at how Victor became a mod - spam whore elite :p

    2) There is no set method of become a Mod. For example I did not ask to be made co-mod of the Tennis/etc forum. I believe Amz requested the forum to be created, and after such she suggested myself and herself to be mods. Its usually down to DeVore and the rest of the admin team who does what moderating at the end of the day.

But also (in the Windows forum for example), mods can be suggested by the forum users, but still the end decision is always down to DeV et al.

    3) Being a moderator means that you are entrusted with policing it to the best of your abilities, generally keeping it free from spam and other rubbish. You access the mod functions as you would access your account from anywhere. If you can access boards.ie you can moderate your forum.

    4) You are on the Cloud skin, which is nice. I use minimilist myself. The vBulletin software (which is skin independant) is created by Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd - though most likely heavily hacked to produce what you see today.

    5) My feet are cold.

And sometimes not even then :p

The mods here do it for free in their own free time... it's a thankless, unfulfilling job, providing mods with only the barest illusion of power. (unless they're seriously delusional)

    Bad command or filename.

Why would you want to be a mod though - it's only €8.25 per hour.
M'eh, you're worth better than that I'm sure...

    You get paid

I just wanted to get an idea how you become one.
My friend is a mod on a bike forum, and became one because he generally helped fellow board members with there problems. I would consider becoming one (if im offered) but to the mercy of the "big boss".
Do you become a mod of a certain forum to which you have great knowlodge of.

Anyway would loke to become one at some stage but have some work to do in the meantime to get the respect points.

Thanks for the entertaining replies, and if feet are cold i would put some socks on or hop into bed with my laptop (nothing naughty BTW) :D

Its funny you should mention that, due to some weird similaritys (at least in my head) between his avatar and Mordeths, I'm convinced that rkm = Mord. That and no other evidence whatsoever... Its funny how rumours get started.

Did nobody else have to provide sexual favours?

I must have got a bad deal. Or good deal, depends on what way you look at it.

I personally don't like to talk about that as I'm doing my best to wipe it from my memory banks
