Played in this regular game in Limerick last Tuesday night.

Then I left when went in with QQ and called by 83o and he hit 2 pair on the flop.

Cant tell you how the prize pool was because was in loo when it was announced but winner took e1400 from 80 odd runners 70 odd rebuys and 60 odd top-ups.

Very bad players, very bad blind strutures, very bad in general.

I played one of those in the Kilmurray before Christmas. They've been running for quite a few months out there now and seriously Mike the guy running it is totally clueless and has never even played the game himself. He started out by running 5 Card draw classics in Shannon Town.

The tournament itself is a joke. The blinds don't seem to go up at even time periods. No one knows when they'll go up. lol, and the leaps are ridiculous. He takes a huge bite out of the prizepool too and its not totally transparrant as to how the payouts will be broken down before the tournament. In other words its a total-crapshoot-lottery-rip-off.

In the one I played I was chip leader with a bout 30BBs with 16 players left. I called a shortstacks all in with AK and his AJ hit 2 pair, then the blinds doubled and all of a sudden I had less than 10BBs. Ended up bubbling in 9th. A complete waste of time and anyone who plays there on a regular basis knows nothing about poker.

By the way I am looking for a regular game in Limerick if you're interested. I've a quality chip set with enough for a 20 player tourney, but I'm just looking for a either a regular smallish stakes cash game or $20-$50 SnG type games.

There's a new cardroom due to open in Limerick on Nicholas St. next month by the way. The guy in charge is very professional and experienced.

I'd be interested in the SnG's but am very interested in the cardroom. If its done properly like the Fitz it should do very well as there seems to be plenty of *ahem* players attending the Kilmurray game on a regular basis.

Im in Limerick once a month on a Tues and Wed so let me know if things come off etc etc.

Yeah the Kilmurray sucks something awful. Don't bother with that. The chap running the new cardroom in Limerick has a hell of a lot of experiecnce and is only interested in a running a cardroom the right way. It will however be sellf deal initially until they get up to 100% full flow. I haven't heard from him in the last week but I'm sure its going to be very soon. I believe the casino that exists in Limerick is moving to a new venue soon in order to accomodate some poker tables so we may end up with 2 poker venues in Limerick this Summer. I've been trying my best to get a regular home game going but just cannot find the players. I know very few guys in Limerick that I'd play with, so if you've got some mates you can bring I can provide the gear and the venue. The card room is going to be in the old snooker hall where Sticks is. I haven't spoken to Matt (the future manage) in over a week but last I heard the ball was rolling along nicely. He seemed confident they would be up and running in a couple of months. I'll send him an email and find out. BTW ricey. You know anyone interested in a home game?

Well I just got some bad news about it. Can't go into the details but it looks like if it happens at all it won't be until the Summer, but it doesn't look promising.
