Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The draw is just over half an hour away with AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Lyon, PSV all in the hat!

As a Liverpool fan I would like to get PSV or Inter, or at least hopefully have them in our side of the draw!

Does anybody have a link where I can watch the draw online?

    I'm hoping for:

    Chelsea vs. Milan
    Liverpool vs. Juventus
    Lyon vs Inter
    PSV vs Bayern Munich

If the draw ends up like that I'll be a happy camper. :)

Some great matches, results expected to fall as follows:

Pool V Juve - Juve by 2 goals
    Milan V Inter - Milan by 1
    Lyon V PSV - Lyon by 2
Bayern V Chelsea - Tough to call, 2 fabulous defences, depends on whether or not Chelsea can score in Germany

Technically Yes! Pretty damn boring though! I reckon Liverpool can get past Juve. 2-0 at Anfield and 2-1 loss in Turin.

Tough draw for Liverpool, is this the first time the two sides have met since the '85 final?

Newcastle have got to fancy their chances of going all the way now. Only Sporting and Villareal look to be the BIG tests there.

That is for sure, if you based it on Wednesday nites performance they would be as well to sit by the fire and keep their toes warm as they will be hockeyed.

Dont count AZ Alkmaar out, Second in the Dutch league, and the win over Shaktar Donetsk was a great result. Esp the 3-1 away win.

Love to see the pool get to the final but its unlikely :(

AC and Lyon should do it.
Ollie Kahn to help Bayern through 3-2 on agg :)

    Go on the reds!

That will be the third time Newcastle play Sporting this season .
It will be a tjough game but with a massive reward of the easier semi with either Vienna or Parma . I predict and AZ V Newcastle final .

What? Will they be fighting over the best seat on the bench?

Should be a crap enough game to be honest. Im a bit disappointed because Juve have been my tip from the start, and thats not changed.

Having said that, it will be an emotional night, and a tight tie overall, its not beyond the bounds of possiblility that Liverpool win it.

I think Chelsea will despatch of Bayern easily enough. Id say JM is delighted that they didnt draw one of the Italian teams.

Lyon looking a great e/w bet even more so now, having said that I dont think they anywhere near as good as people will make them out. A semi-final place should they make it will certainly flatter them.

AC should overcome Inter in another tight game.

I got AZ at 50/1 just after the group stage when they were put in a tough side of the draw with Shaktaar and Schalke. Pity I didn't put more on though.

If Juve are going to win it then Chelsea won't make the final. :)

    The Semi-Finals are:
    Liverpool/Juventus v Chelsea/Bayern
    Milan/Inter v Lyon/PSV

No. I felt that it took a mistake in the first leg to put the tie in Milan's favour. We had chances to put Milan away in that game (Scholes and Fortune), and we had one or two in the San Siro aswell but we didn't take them. They did not show United up in any way in either tie. Milan are the best team in Europe at the moment so I'm glad it was them and not some average side that knocked us out with a flukey last minute goal.

    That clear everything up?

Besides Man Utd, who you know aren't in the 1/4's so if people didn't jab pornapster people wouldn't stab back with ya know, obvious stuff like, YOU@RE OUT SHUT THE **** UP.

Very tough draw for Liverpool, they got one of the two teams I'm sure they can't beat tbh :/ Would have given them a chance against anoyone but Juve and Milan

PSV vs. Lyon should be agreat game, good to see one of those two wil be in the semis

Milan vs. Inter, **** that'll be a cool game.
Milan should and will win it though

    Chelsea vs. Bayern
I'm not quite sure that this is an easy match, that said, Bayern beat Arsenal with a defense in crumbles, and were then beaten by arsenal 1-0, so I think Chelsea can win this. That said, you can't write off any one at this stage, anyone could win these games.

Chelsea vs. Juve - Maybe Chelsea, but I honastly doubt it. Chelsea play an Italian stlye of football and they will be up against a team that is firs off used to it, and secondly very veyr good at it, so it should be interesting.
    Milan vs. Lyon - Milan

Milan vs. Juve final anything could happen
Milan vs. Chelsea final I think Milan would edge it.

That said, I defo wouldnt like to see Chelsea do a treble, if not the best treble, but a fairly ****ign impressive one either way this year. I don't think they deserve to win a treble, but thats probably just personal.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Wil the Utd fans please contribute to any other thread! As long as we're in it we can win it. Hopefully Gerrard now knows that!

More seriously I really did'nt want Juve, but there you go. If the best Liverpool turn up they have a chance esp if Alonso is fit enough for the second leg as suggested.

    Mike.
