It was from the 80's, probably American. Featured some nerdy guy with black hair / thick rimmed glasses. Throughout the video he's trying to get some hot chick (who doesn't even register his existence) to go out with him or whatever.

Two scenes have stuck in my mind all this time:
1) The guy frantically bashing away on his PC in his bedroom for some reason. T
2) The guy walking along beach/shore inside a 8-ft tall plastic bubble on a sunny day (imagine the mechanics involved for moving hamster-wheels from the show 'Gladitors except it was a completly sealed plastic bubble)

Yeah I know it's a longshot but any suggestions gratefully recieved.
