    lovely try by italy though....
and taking out dominici should help keep the score down a bit, he was running rings around his winger (not saying it's somehting I like to see, would rather he have gone on his own...)
Italy are showing a lot of good forward strenght anyway..

    Italy 13 - France 56

fcuk fcuk fcuk...... bloody italians what the hell did they do in that scrum... and as for Donal Courtney, you'd think he'd have bloody well called that back for out of the channel or something.. how unpatriotic is he???? i hope his mother's proud of him for that if we don't beat wales by 15....

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 545 ✭✭✭cgf

    Excellent. :D

I'll be getting a payout from the bookies now as long as Ireland win by any margin, as I had backed both Ireland and France for the championship. C'mon Ireland!! :D

    Woeful

I think that the French loss did more damage than the loss of points.

We didn't believe. We were looking for an excuse to let the head drop.

Hate to say it - but we could be facing the wilderness for a few years. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,082 ✭✭✭Nukem

My comments:rolleyes: ,dont think im allowed curse that much.
Well lets start nicely, the Welch deserved it and im glad they won the 6nations rather than france. WELL DONE WALES.

Our problem was we had no ....................no nothing!!!!! we just didnt play well. Scrum and lineout was abismal, dont think Easterby should have been there, gave too many penalties away,Byrne and Corrigan were woeful around the park,ROG not goin on Lions on that display along with Murphy. Man i could go on BOTTOM LINE we played poorly and the played well.

Now the question is where do we go from here? Drop players left right and centre and start fresh or plough on regardless(EOS likes that pain)

    Oh well :(

Still trying to figure out why people thought that was a good Irish team...

there were less than a handful of Irish players who can be proud of their performance, 4 of them are subs. is the Irish Jersey not enough to play for anymore? The only passion and hunger shown was by guys who hadn't got a run-out before in the tournament! If that's gonna be the case from now on then we're gonna have to put forward a different team for each match, nobody will be able to play back to back matches.

Wales wanted it, now they have it. That's all i learned from today.

That's what has to happen now. I've wanted to see changes across the board for a long time now. Things just got stale. No real competition for places. More than half that team need to be dropped now and a injection of the many talented young players we have in this country is badly needed. Eddie needs to be less loyal to his long-standing players and start picking the form players. Miller should have been on from the start, and it's time for Jennings and Duffy to be given a shot.

We got a hiding, almost anglo saxon in nature.
Dreadful season by Ireland. Time to rebuild.

    ill second that!
    Wales wanted it
ya they wer the hungrier(sp?) side alrite! btr team on day as they say..

On a side-note - the only thing that the "New Prince of Wales" did in the second half was almost getting himself sin binned, i think the ref was very lenient. Peele is my player of the tournament, first choice Lions scrum half, Stephen Jones did well but it was all about the Welsh back-row, they were all over us!

i can see 8/9 Welsh players starting for the Lions.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 545 ✭✭✭cgf

Yep - poor, poor, poor

Just listened to O'Sullivan stating a few times that the "best team on the day won". What else does he expect, that the worst team on the day will win. Is it not his job to prepare Ireland such that they will be the best team on the day?? Why doesn't he get stuck into some of the players? Quite a few prima donnas on that team that ain't worth their salt but have been talking themselves up no end.

At least the loins will save a few quid as they won't be buying as many seats on the Dublin->London leg of the trip to NZ as they once expected. :(

    name one.

    Let me see.........

Corrigan, Byrne, Easterby, Stringer, Hickie, Dempsey.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭Kevin_rc_ie

hmm. excuse me, how can you call these guy's
    prima donnas

    pri·ma donna

    1. The leading woman soloist in an opera company.
    2. A temperamental, conceited person.

i wouldn't consider any of those guys temperamental. With the exception of Hickie, I agree that none of them are best in the championship in their position, but in my opinion, they play well on a regular basis.
Are they vain? Those lads, again with the exception of Hickie have quite low public profiles. So, I have no idea where your coming from.

Also, not worth their salt? I don't know who you'd pick in their positions instead. Cos it's all well and good to give young players a go, but we don't have them.

    dempsey was poor today.

drico had a good game, as did murphy.

when the replacements came, they did well but that could have been a case of tired welsh legs.

    Here's the reality lads....

O'Driscoll, no matter whether you like or loath him, is by a mile the best centre in the world. He make yards every time he has the ball, even when he is double teamed (like he was today)

Murphy is a Lions starting full back, why:? because he is the best footballer in #15, and Robinson should be on the wing, anyone who plays him elsewhere needs there head examined. Henson is a natural talent, a gifted player, but the immaturity and petulance that showed him up today was the f-ing slide tackle on Murphy when he was touching down....thats the type of play that gets you in the bin, and costs you team tem mins with 14 players

Also his decision making with ball in hand needs some work, too many times has he kicked for position when he has a 4 on 2 outside him! He's a great talent and the cockiness impresses me, but he's far from the finished article.

Gutted at the way we played, nearly as much as by the result.

    At least O'Connor played well.

    <cries into pint>

Man, i really wanted Johnny O'Connor to get that try - i think he really deserved a six nations try :)
