i'd say most people have different ideas about whats hot and what's not.

for me it more about, do i get on with the person/ do they have a good sense of humour and are they an honest person

after that i'd say looks are only of secoundary importance, well for me anyhow!i don't think many relationships would last to long if they didnt have something else to offer apart from looks.

Personally I think that subconsciously every girl is looking for the guy of her dreams and its usually someone who fits the provider status. He has to look strong and i dont just mean physically. A girl likes to have someone by her side to look after her (i dont mean materialistically). Looks are important because every girl that wants to start a family wants good strong genes and pretty kids and a guy who can do all the running around after them. Eyes are essential because a girl can tell a lot about a guy by his eyes. Weird I know. But thats what ive found with all the women i know. Just my opinion so dont knock me on this.

It's a little like the double standard with porn in my opinion; if it's targeted at men it's pornography and hence evil, if it's targeted at women it's erotica and hence okay.

emm how can it be shallow? breasts are a secoundary sexual feature as are muscles in men, eyes have nothing got to do with the reproductive system, you don't see pictures of eyes on porn sites do you? so therefore the comparison between eyes and breasts is hardly the same.
btw u'll probably get further with most girls if you look at their eyes rather then their breasts as at it shows your interested in the person themselves rather then just their body.

So it's alright to judge someone on a single physical characteristic as long as it's not a secondary sexual feature?

You can only determine one thing about a man by looking at his eyes; the colour of his pupils. Anything else you 'discover' is akin to Phrenology...

actually you can tell a lot from looking at someone's eyes. dilated pupils are a physiological sign a person's interested in you (aswell as blushing).
70% of communication is non verbal, if a person avoids eye contact they might be shy or might not like you, but if they maintain eye contact its often a sure sign they like you.

I could equally say the same about telling a lot from a girl's erect nipples.

madgefan, what a shopping list for the poor guys! you know it's fairley impossible to find the perfect guy or girl and i doubt anyone could fit into the list above(without the help of plastic surgery!).
i think its the imperfections that make a guy cute and make them stand out as an individual, any guy can have a six pack but it takes a special guy to hold the door for a lady and treat them properly!
